Kenya, Seychelles, Morocco, South Africa, And UAE Etihad Airways Boosts African Operations With More Nairobi Flights And New Routes

Etihad Airways is significantly expanding its presence in Africa by doubling its Nairobi flights and launching new services to Seychelles, Casablanca, and Johannesburg, all while strengthening its regional partnerships. This growth highlights Etihad’s commitment to enhancing connectivity between Africa, the Middle East, and Asia, offering travelers greater convenience and access to key destinations across the continent. With a focus on meeting the increasing demand for air travel, Etihad’s expanded network is set to further solidify its position as a major player in African aviation.

Etihad Airways is significantly enhancing its African operations by increasing flight frequencies and introducing new destinations, underscoring its commitment to the continent’s growing air travel demand.

Starting December 15, 2025, the UAE-based airline will boost its Nairobi services to 14 weekly flights, building on the route’s success since its relaunch less than a year ago. In addition, Etihad will begin offering six weekly flights to the Seychelles in partnership with Air Seychelles from May 2025. The airline will also introduce daily Boeing 787 services to Casablanca and Johannesburg, enhancing connectivity to these vital African cities.

This growth strategy is bolstered by strategic partnerships.Etihad’s partnership with Ethiopian Airlines is set to transform travel connectivity between Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. Through this collaboration, a new codeshare agreement will enhance both passenger and cargo services. Likewise, the partnership with Air Seychelles will offer smoother connections to picturesque destinations such as Praslin and Mauritius via Mahe.

Nairobi, known as the “Green City in the Sun,” is a vibrant East African city that effortlessly combines bustling urban life with breathtaking natural beauty. The city is home to Nairobi National Park, a rare wildlife reserve within city limits, and offers rich cultural experiences, including museums and art galleries. With its growing popularity and strong demand, the expansion of Etihad’s Nairobi services reflects the increasing significance of this dynamic destination.

Etihad Airways is expanding its African network by doubling Nairobi flights and adding new services to Seychelles, Casablanca, and Johannesburg, enhancing connectivity across the region.

By December 2025, Etihad’s African network will see a substantial increase compared to the previous year, with four new direct routes connecting Abu Dhabi to major African cities. The addition of Addis Ababa, in partnership with Ethiopian Airlines, marks another significant step in strengthening the airline’s presence on the continent.

Etihad’s growth in Africa underscores the airline’s strategy to capitalize on the continent’s emerging opportunities. With an expanded network, modern fleet, and strong industry partnerships, Etihad provides travelers with enhanced convenience for both business and leisure. This growth further solidifies Etihad’s position as a leading player in African aviation.
